Consulate and honorary consulates in India
The register lists a Polish consulate in Mumbai. It also lists Polish honorary consulates in:
- Bengaluru
- Kolkata
This matches the MEA brief of June 2026, which states that in addition to the Polish Embassy in New Delhi and the Consulate General in Mumbai, Poland has two Honorary Consulates, in Kolkata and Bengaluru. The register lists these offices by city only, so readers should ask the embassy which office handles their matter before visiting.
National day
The national day of Poland is 3 May (Constitution Day).
Indian offices in Poland
For Indian nationals in Poland, the brief refers to the Indian Embassy in Warsaw. It also records that India has had an Honorary Consulate in Wroclaw since January 2018, and that an Honorary Consulate General of India was opened in Krakow in August 2024.
Visas
According to the brief, Poland has been included in India's e-visa scheme with effect from 15 August 2015, and a large number of Poles use e-visa facilities for tourism and business purposes. Polish nationals should check India's current e-visa conditions through official Indian government channels.
The two countries also have an Agreement on exemption from visa requirement for holders of diplomatic passports, dating from 2015. As its title indicates, it applies to diplomatic passport holders.
The brief has no information on Polish visa rules for Indian tourists, students, workers or business travellers. Anyone planning travel to Poland should confirm current requirements, documents and procedures directly with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in New Delhi or the consulate in Mumbai.
Agreements relevant to individuals
The India-Poland Social Security Agreement and the Administrative Arrangement to the Social Security Agreement were signed on 25 November 2024 in Warsaw. The brief does not set out the agreement's terms, and workers who may be affected should seek details from the embassy or the relevant social security authorities.
The two countries also have an Agreement on engagement in the gainful occupation by family members of a member of a diplomatic mission or consular post, dating from 2022. It concerns the families of diplomatic and consular staff.
Air connectivity
Deputy Foreign Minister of Poland Marcin Przydacz visited India in September 2019 on the occasion of the inauguration of LOT Polish Airlines' direct flight on the Warsaw-Delhi sector. During the visit he met the MoS (IC) for Civil Aviation, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, and discussed the possibility of creating a broader network of air connections in the future.
He also informed the Indian side about Poland's plans to build the Solidarity Transport Hub (CPK) in Poland, and met Secretary (ER). Travellers should check current flight schedules with airlines.
Honorary consuls
Honorary consuls have limited powers and do not provide the full range of services available at the embassy and the consulate. Visa, passport and other consular requirements should always be confirmed with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in New Delhi or the consulate in Mumbai.
