This article covers India's development partnership with Togo: Lines of Credit, projects funded through the India-UN Development Partnership Fund, grants and humanitarian aid, training under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) programme, and cooperation in defence, solar energy, agriculture and health. It is based on the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) brief of April 2026.

India-UN Development Partnership Fund
On 15 July 2019, a project to promote biodiversity-friendly livelihoods in the Fazao-Malfakassa National Park (North-Togo), funded by the Government of India through the India-UN Development Partnership Fund for US $1 million, was launched in Lomé. Implemented by UNESCO and completed in October 2022, it set up a biosphere reserve around the park.
The project aimed at preserving biodiversity and addressing deforestation, land degradation and declining agricultural production. It helped establish alternative livelihoods for beneficiaries in 22 villages around the park, equipping rural communities for activities such as the development of Shea butter, sheep and goat breeding and beekeeping. On 18 April 2024, a further Government of India grant of US $2 million from the same fund was approved to strengthen the resilience of the remaining local communities, in 37 villages around the park.
Grants and humanitarian assistance
India has provided economic assistance to Togo in the form of tractors (60), a water pump, a sewing machine, an ambulance, transport vehicles and a corn-grinding machine, among other items. At the request of the Togolese Government, India's grant assistance has also included:

Under special and customised courses, 22 officials from various Ministries, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received training during 2024-2025.

Seven Togolese defence personnel took part in courses between 2018-19 and 2019-20, namely UNSLOC, UNCAP-III, UNMCOC and CUNPK. The brief states that capacity building has since intensified as Togo has been using defence slots under ITEC: since FY 2021-22, Togolese defence personnel have utilised a total of 43 ITEC (defence) slots.
