Shri Rudra Gaurav Shresth (IFS:1999), presently Ambassador of India to Iran, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Republic of Turkiye. He is expected to take up the assignment shortly.

India and Turkiye hold 12th Foreign Office Consultations in New Delhi, first round since 2022
The 12th round of India-Turkiye Foreign Office Consultations was held in New Delhi on 8 April 2026, chaired by Secretary (West) Sibi George and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Berris Ekinci. The last round was held in June 2022 in Ankara. Talks covered trade, tourism, technology, energy, education and fight against cross border terrorism. The next round will be in Turkiye.
