Honorary consulate

The register lists one honorary consulate of Zimbabwe in India, in Mumbai.

National day

The national day of Zimbabwe is 18 April (Independence Day). As the relations article of this guide notes, the brief records that an Indian Prime Minister attended Zimbabwe's independence celebrations in 1980.

Visas

The MEA brief of April 2026 does not contain any information on Zimbabwean visa rules for Indian travellers, including tourists, students, business visitors or workers. Anyone planning to travel to Zimbabwe should check current requirements with the Embassy, or through its website, before applying.

Air services

According to the MEA brief of April 2026, the Government of India and the Government of the Republic of Zimbabwe signed an Air Services Agreement in June 2014. The brief does not describe its terms, and it gives no information on flights or routes between the two countries.

Zimbabwean students and trainees in India

The culture and education article of this guide gives the brief's estimate of the number of Zimbabwean students in Indian colleges and universities, and the development partnership article covers ITEC training.

According to the brief, the Government of Zimbabwe offered 250 Presidential Scholarships in 2024 to students to study in India. Students and trainees should direct their questions to the Embassy.

For businesses

Indian businesses interested in Zimbabwe will find the trade and investment article of this guide more useful than this page. It covers the business delegations organised with CII and FICCI and Indian participation in the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair in Bulawayo.

India's embassy in Zimbabwe

For Indian nationals and businesses in Zimbabwe, the brief refers to the Embassy of India, which organises visits by Indian trade delegations and cultural performances in Zimbabwe. The community article of this guide gives the brief's estimate of the size of the expatriate Indian community there.

Tourism

The brief contains little information for tourists. It records Zimbabwe's participation in a Global Investment and Tourism Expo and "Chalo Zimbabwe" event in Surat in August 2025, but it says nothing about travel arrangements, entry requirements or tourist facilities. Travellers should obtain this information from the Embassy.

Honorary consuls

Honorary consuls have limited powers and do not provide the full range of services offered by an embassy. Visa, passport and other consular requirements should always be confirmed with the Embassy of Zimbabwe in New Delhi.
