This article gives the contact details of the Embassy of the Republic of Yemen in New Delhi, its consulate in Mumbai, the head of mission and Yemen's national day, together with the facts in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) bilateral brief of June 2026 about India's own representation for Yemen. Contact details come from the MEA Protocol Division register, read on 24 September 2026.

Embassy of the Republic of Yemen, New Delhi

The register lists the following details for the Embassy:

  • Address: D-108, Anand Niketan, New Delhi-110021
  • Telephone: 91 11 4270-5723 - 24
  • Email: sec@yemeninindia.com

The register lists no website for the Embassy. The telephone entry is reproduced exactly as the register gives it.

Head of mission

The register names H.E. Mr. Abdulmalik Abdullah Al Eryani, Ambassador, as the head of mission. Appointments change, so anyone writing to the Embassy on formal business should confirm the current office holder with the Embassy.

Consulate in Mumbai

Outside New Delhi, the register lists a consulate of Yemen in Mumbai. It lists the office by city only, and the register shows no honorary consulate of Yemen in India. Readers should ask the Embassy for the consulate's contact details and for which office handles their matter.

National day

The register gives Yemen's national day as 22 May (Day of Unification).

India's representation for Yemen

According to the MEA brief of June 2026, the Ambassador of India to Yemen is based in Riyadh and holds concurrent charge of Yemen. On August 20-22, 2024, the Ambassador visited Aden to present his credentials to Yemeni President Dr. Rashad bin Al-Alimi. In November 2024 the brief names the Ambassador as Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, when he met the Vice President of Yemen, Major General Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, in Riyadh.

The Ambassador has since met Yemeni leaders in Riyadh on several occasions: Foreign Minister Dr. Shaya Mohsin Zindani in January 2025; Maj. Gen. Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, Vice President of the Presidential Leadership Council, on Jun 30, 2025; Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, on August 10, 2025; and H.E. Dr. Shaya Mohsin Zindani, as Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, on June 09, 2026.

India's office in Aden and consular help

The brief states that India opened its representative office in Aden with effect from 1 October 2025 to ease consular services in Yemen. Yemen's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomed the move, describing the opening as "a positive step reflecting the strong Yemeni-Indian relations and mutual commitment to deepen cooperation in Political, economic, and cultural fields".

As of the brief, approximately 3000-4000 Indian nationals live in Yemen. Indian nationals there who need consular help should approach India's office in Aden or the Indian Ambassador to Yemen in Riyadh.

Visas and travel

The MEA brief of June 2026 contains no information on visas, consular procedures for Yemeni nationals, or current flights between India and Yemen. It mentions an agreement on air services among the bilateral agreements, without further detail.

Indian citizens considering travel to Yemen should check current requirements with the Embassy of the Republic of Yemen in New Delhi or its consulate in Mumbai. Yemeni citizens planning travel to India should check them through India's official visa channels.

Honorary consuls

Honorary consuls have limited powers and cannot offer the full range of services of an embassy or a career consulate. Yemen has none listed in India, and visa, passport and other consular requirements should in every case be confirmed with the Embassy of the Republic of Yemen in New Delhi or its consulate in Mumbai.
