This article gives the contact details of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in New Delhi, the Indian cities where the Republic of Korea (ROK) has consulates or honorary consulates, and the consular points contained in the MEA brief of July 2026. Contact details, the head of mission and the lists of consulates are taken from the MEA Protocol Division register, read on 24 September 2026.

Embassy of the Republic of Korea in New Delhi

According to the register, the head of mission is H.E. Mr. Lee Seong HO, Ambassador. The register does not give office hours or a list of services, and this guide does not state them. Readers should check them on the embassy website or with the embassy directly.

Consulates in India

The register lists consulates of the ROK in two Indian cities:

  • Chennai
  • Mumbai

The addresses and telephone numbers that the MEA register lists for these offices are shown on the Republic of Korea country page on Diplo. Addresses and telephone numbers for these consulates should be obtained from the embassy or its website.

Honorary consulates

The register also lists honorary consulates of the ROK in the following Indian cities:

  • Ahmedabad
  • Chandigarh
  • Goa
  • Hyderabad
  • Kolkata
  • New Delhi

These should also be confirmed with the embassy.

National day

The national day of the Republic of Korea is 3 October (National Foundation Day).

Consular matters in the MEA brief

According to the MEA brief of July 2026, the Third bilateral Consular dialogue between India and the ROK was held in Seoul on 07 April 2026.

The brief does not describe visa, e-visa or other entry arrangements for travel between India and the ROK, and it does not mention direct air services. Travellers, students and business visitors should check current requirements with the embassy or with the consulate that serves their area before making plans.

The brief also records mechanisms for Korean investors and for startups, including the India-Korea Fast Track Mechanism and the India-Korea Startup Centre. These are covered in the trade and investment article of this guide.

India's embassy in the ROK

Indian nationals in the ROK who need help from their own government should approach the Embassy of India in the ROK, which the brief mentions in connection with its cultural, tourism and community work.

Where these details come from

This article draws on three sources. The embassy's address, telephone number, email address, website and head of mission, and the cities with consulates and honorary consulates, come from the MEA Protocol Division register as read on 24 September 2026. The national day is as listed in the register and in the UN Protocol and Liaison Service's Blue Book.

The point on the consular dialogue, and the statement that the brief does not cover visas or air services, come from the MEA brief of July 2026. Addresses, telephone numbers, office holders and consular arrangements can change after these dates, so readers should confirm them with the embassy before visiting, telephoning or sending documents. The embassy website listed above is the natural first place to check.

Honorary consuls

Honorary consuls have limited powers and do not offer the full range of services provided by an embassy or a career consulate. Any visa, passport or other consular requirement should be confirmed with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in New Delhi, or with its consulates in Chennai and Mumbai, before relying on an honorary consulate.
