This article gives the contact details of the Embassy of Panama in New Delhi and the Indian city where Panama has a consulate, together with the facts on consular services, visas and mobility found in the MEA brief of June 2026. The contact details, the head of mission and the list of consular offices are taken from the MEA Protocol Division register as read on 24 September 2026, and the national day from the UN Blue Book. Addresses, telephone numbers and office holders can change after that date.
Embassy of Panama in New Delhi
As of 24 September 2026, the register gives the following contact details for the Embassy:
- Address: E-2/9, First Floor, Vasant Vihar, New Delhi-110057
- Telephone: +91-11- 26148260, 26148268
- Email: embpanamaindia@mire.gob.pa
No website is listed for the Embassy in the register. As of the same date, the register names the head of mission as H.E. Mr. Alonso Correa Miguel, Ambassador.
According to the MEA brief of June 2026, Panama has a Resident Mission in New Delhi. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in 1962. The brief refers to Yasiel Burillo as the previous Ambassador of Panama to India, in connection with Panama's ratification of the ISA in New Delhi on 7 March 2024.
Consulate in Mumbai
The register lists a consulate of Panama in Mumbai. The brief states that in 2018 Panama designated a new position of Consul General, Mumbai, for providing better and expedited visa-issuance facilities for Indian businessmen and tourists.
It is the only consular office of Panama in India listed in the register. The register entry used for this guide gives the city only, so readers should ask the Embassy in New Delhi for the current contact details of the Mumbai office and for which office handles a particular application.
National day
The UN Blue Book lists Panama's national day as 3 November (Independence Day).
Mobility and migration discussions
The brief records several discussions on mobility. Mobility was among the topics discussed during EAM's official visit to Panama in April 2023. During the meeting of 22 February 2024 between EAM Dr. S Jaishankar and the then Foreign Minister Janaina Tewaney, EAM stated, on the Mobility Partnership Agreement, that the best way to combat illegal migration is to facilitate mobility of genuine travellers.
At the same meeting, the Foreign Minister mentioned that the MMPA was under discussion. She added that the matter would be discussed at a Foreign Ministers' meeting hosted by Panama with Mexico, Colombia, Costa Rica and a representative from the US.
Visa and mobility issues and a Migration and Mobility Agreement were also among the issues discussed during the visit of the Minister of State for External Affairs to Panama in August 2024. The brief does not say whether such an agreement has been concluded.
Currency
The brief notes that the US Dollar is accepted in the Panamanian economy, which it presents as an advantage for business.
Visas
Apart from the 2018 decision on the Consul General in Mumbai, the brief has no information on visa requirements for travel to Panama. Diplo therefore gives no visa requirements, fees, processing times or eligibility rules. Anyone planning to travel to Panama should check current requirements with the Embassy of Panama in New Delhi or the consulate in Mumbai.
Honorary consuls and confirming requirements
The register lists no honorary consulates of Panama in India; Panama is represented by its Embassy and its consulate in Mumbai. Where honorary consuls exist, they have limited powers and do not offer the full range of services of an embassy. Visa, document and other requirements should be confirmed with the Embassy of Panama in New Delhi or the consulate in Mumbai.
