Among its useful resources, the brief lists the website of the Embassy of India in Ulaanbaatar and the Embassy's accounts on Facebook, X and Instagram, which readers in Mongolia can consult for official information from the Indian side.

Medical travel to India

The brief states that there is potential for 'Spiritual Tourism' and 'Medical Tourism' between the two countries, and that both have been prioritised by the Indian mission as focus areas. It records several channels through which Mongolians seek treatment in India:

  • The India-Mongolia Health Cooperation Centre, a private institution, was established in 2020 to attract Mongolians for treatment in India of liver conditions, ophthalmological conditions, cancer and heart ailments.
  • A tele-medicine centre at Intermed Hospital, where Apollo Hospital offers online consultation followed by treatment in India if needed.

The brief does not describe their terms, and it gives no information on current air connections between the two countries.

Visas and other consular matters

Readers should confirm current requirements with the Embassy of Mongolia in New Delhi before travelling to Mongolia, and with the Indian Embassy in Ulaanbaatar before travelling to India.

Students in Mongolia interested in studying in India will find the ICCR scholarship schemes described in the culture and education article of this guide.

A note on honorary consuls

Honorary consuls have limited powers. Visa, passport and other consular requirements should always be confirmed directly with the Embassy of Mongolia in New Delhi, including for any matter first raised with the honorary consulate in Mumbai.
