The register does not list a website for the High Commission. The head of mission, as listed in the register, is H.E. Mr. Jason Hall, High Commissioner.

Consulates in India

The register lists no consulates or honorary consulates of Jamaica in other Indian cities. The High Commission in New Delhi is therefore the point of contact for all enquiries.

How the resident mission was set up

According to the MEA brief of June 2026, a resident mission of Jamaica in India started functioning in 2020. In May 2019, Prime Minister of Jamaica Mr. Andrew Holness had indicated Jamaica's intention to open a new resident mission in New Delhi. He was scheduled to visit India in April 2020, but the visit could not take place because of the Covid 19 pandemic.

Before the resident mission opened, Senator Mr. Aubyn Hill, who was earlier the Special Investment Ambassador and Special Envoy for India, was Jamaica's High Commissioner to India from 2018, with residence in Kingston. In 2021, Amb. Mr. Jason Hall was appointed as the first Resident High Commissioner of Jamaica to India.

The High Commission of Jamaica in New Delhi was inaugurated during Prime Minister Holness's visit to India from 30 September to 3 October 2024. A section of road was named Jamaica Marg during the same visit.

India's mission in Jamaica

India is represented in Jamaica by the High Commission of India, Kingston. The brief states that this resident mission was established in 1976, following the visit of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi to Jamaica in 1975.

National day

The national day of Jamaica is 6 August (Independence Day).

Visas and consular matters

The brief states that Indian passport holders have provision for visa free entry and stay for a maximum of 90 days in Jamaica. Travellers should confirm current entry requirements with the High Commission before travelling, as the brief gives no further detail on conditions or documents.

The brief also notes an increasing number of Indians moving to Jamaica for employment. Together with the OCI card facility being extended to the Indian diaspora with liberal documentation requirements, this has led to an increasing rush for passports and OCI cards.

As of the brief, it is estimated that over 4000 Indian nationals live in Jamaica. They include a small but expanding group of skilled professionals, such as doctors, many attached to government hospitals, and professors, some of whom teach at the University of West Indies, Kingston.

The brief does not state visa requirements for Jamaican nationals travelling to India. These, like any other visa or consular question, should be checked with the relevant mission before travel.

Air connectivity

India and Jamaica signed an Agreement for Cooperation in the field of Civil Aviation in 2016. The brief gives no information on flight routes between the two countries.

Honorary consuls

Honorary consuls have limited powers compared with a full diplomatic mission. Jamaica has no honorary consulates listed in India, and all requirements should be confirmed directly with the High Commission in New Delhi.
