Air connectivity

The brief states that Air India has increased its frequencies on the Delhi-Bali sector from 7 times weekly to 10 times per week, to cater to growing demand for two-way tourism between India and Indonesia.

As of January 2026, there are four sectors between India and Indonesia:

  • Jakarta-Mumbai
  • Bali-Bengaluru
  • Bali-Mumbai
  • Bali-Delhi

According to the brief, India was the second largest source of tourists to Bali in 2023, after Australia; wider tourism figures are given in the culture article. The brief notes that there is no connectivity between Jakarta and Delhi.

India's missions in Indonesia

The brief refers to an Indian Consulate General, in whose premises the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Bali was inaugurated. Indian nationals in Indonesia who need help from their own government should contact India's missions there. The brief puts the number of Indian nationals living in Indonesia at around 15,000; the community is described in the culture article of this guide.

Visa, passport and other consular requirements should always be confirmed with the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in New Delhi or the consulate in Mumbai.
