According to the register, the head of mission is Mr. Vakhtang Jaoshvili, Ambassador. The MEA brief of July 2026 records that Georgia opened its Embassy in Delhi in 2009.

India's mission in Georgia

India operationalised its resident mission in Georgia in July 2024. Before 2024, the Indian Embassy in Yerevan was concurrently accredited to Georgia.

Indian nationals in Georgia who need assistance from their own government should approach the Indian mission.

Honorary consulates

The register lists Georgian honorary consulates in the following Indian cities:

National day

The national day of Georgia is 26 May (Independence Day).

Air connectivity

According to the MEA brief of July 2026, the Indian airline Indigo was operating daily flights between Delhi and Tbilisi since August 2024. As of the brief, these flights were suspended due to the ongoing Middle East crisis.

The brief does not say when the flights might resume. It does not mention any other direct air services between India and Georgia.

Visas and consular matters

Travellers, business visitors and students, including those going to Georgia to study medicine, should check current requirements directly with the Embassy of Georgia in New Delhi before making plans. Information published on the embassy's website is the appropriate starting point.

Honorary consuls
