Who heads the mission

According to the MEA brief of April 2026, Eswatini's Resident Mission in India was opened in December 2025 and is headed by a Charge d'Affaires a.i.

The brief also states that the High Commissioner of Eswatini to Malaysia, resident in Kuala Lumpur, is presently accredited to India.

Consulates

The register lists no Eswatini consulates or honorary consulates elsewhere in India. The High Commission in New Delhi is the only Eswatini office in India recorded there.

National day

Eswatini's national day is 6 September (Independence Day).

Visas

The visa information in the brief relates only to official travel. During the visit of the President of India in April 2018, India and Eswatini signed a visa waiver agreement for holders of diplomatic and official passports.

A protocol for including the Service Passport of the Kingdom of Eswatini in the India-Eswatini visa waiver agreement was later agreed between the two countries. It has been implemented with effect from 15 November 2023. The agreement and the protocol concern diplomatic, official and service passports; the brief does not describe any waiver for ordinary passports.

The brief contains no information on visas for ordinary passport holders, e-visas, fees or processing times. Travellers to Eswatini should check current requirements with the High Commission of Eswatini in New Delhi, and travellers from Eswatini to India should check with the High Commission of India in Mbabane.

India's High Commission in Mbabane

During his visit in April 2018, President Shri Ram Nath Kovind conveyed the Government of India's decision to open a resident Indian Diplomatic Mission in Eswatini. The first resident Indian Mission in Mbabane started functioning on 13 August 2019. Before that, the High Commission of India in Maputo was accredited to the Kingdom of Eswatini. Indian nationals in Eswatini who need help from their own government should contact the High Commission of India in Mbabane.

Shri N. Ram Prasad, High Commissioner of India to Eswatini, assumed charge on 01 August 2023. An MEA announcement of 06 August 2026 named Shri Anand Prakash as the next High Commissioner of India to the Kingdom of Eswatini. In December 2024, he and Eswatini's Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Hon Appolo Maphalala, signed the lease deed for a plot of land gifted by His Majesty King Mswati III for the construction of the Chancery of the High Commission of India in Mbabane.

Air connectivity

The brief does not mention any air services between India and Eswatini, and it gives no air connectivity information.

Office hours and services

Neither the register nor the brief gives office hours or a list of the consular services the High Commission offers. Readers should ask the High Commission by email what it can help with, and when, before travelling to the chancery.

Honorary consuls and confirming requirements

Eswatini has no honorary consulates in India listed in the register. Where honorary consuls exist, they have limited powers and do not provide the full range of services of a High Commission. Any visa, passport or other consular requirement should be confirmed directly with the High Commission in New Delhi.
