President Murmu makes first State Visit by an Indian President to Moldova
President Droupadi Murmu reached Chisinau on 20 July 2026 on the first leg of her State Visit, the first visit by an Indian President to Moldova. She was received by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Mihai Popsoi and held talks with President Maia Sandu. India will double ITEC training slots for Moldovan professionals.

President Murmu addresses India-Moldova Business Forum in Chisinau
President Droupadi Murmu addressed the India-Moldova Business Forum in Chisinau on July 20, 2026 along with President Maia Sandu. She said Indian companies are interested in Moldova's renewable energy projects, including solar energy, battery storage, smart grids and green hydrogen, and invited Moldovan businesses to explore opportunities in India.
